April of 201?

2013?

Yes.  Not that surprising.  They've done most of the work for this in releasing the X32.  The new members of the X32 family are simply repackaging of the same components that went into the original desk.  The hardware is (largely) the same.  The firmware is the same.  The remote software is the same.

I think April 2013 is totally realistic.  I hope it is.  I already plan on getting at least 4 more units for this family....

I definitely see an X32 Rack replacing the Venice 16R and rack of outboard we have to roll out for FOH in our multi-purpose room. The lynchpin for me is the android phone/tablet control app as I refuse to join the Icult.

For us the X32 Rack with onboard inputs/outputs and the screen is perfect. For other applications using the S16 digital snake and the X32 Core might be ideal. As I see it the other digital console manufacturers have three battlefield strategies available to them: Stand and fight(drive enough efficiencies in to their own processes to be able to offer a competitive value proposition), withdraw to higher ground(focus on higher priced segments of the console market, go fight Midas), General Winter (hope an outside force, in this case Behringer's extensive past troubles with quality doom the X32). Lots of sleepless nights are undoubtedly being had by many.

I think we're seeing the "old" Behringer and now the "new" Behringer.

Behringer I don't think is going to mess this one up...and especially drag Midas down with them.  Plus the X32 has had enough road testing to prove its' decent sound quality and features, and...it's actually holding up.  Yes...maybe 3-5 year lifespans... but at that price.

There are brand names floating around nowadays, I would have never thought...  in the guitar world, Ibanez comes to mind.
