Compact Powered Speaker Wish List
« on: January 19, 2013, 03:38:59 PM »

Hi Folks,
I posted a thread over on the LAB looking for thoughts on portable active speakers $500-$1000. HOW is a big market for this type of gear so it would be great if you could bop over there and add some thoughts.

Thanks

Putting the peanut butter and jelly in the same jar is only a good idea if the consumer is dumb,  going camping or to the moon. In regular locations when the consumer is smart it's a dumb idea.

I really wish they would place PB&J together in a plastic jar.  Much better for the "camping" I do.  The glass jars the combo currently comes in are simply too heavy.

If one is going to accept all the other compromises inherent in some goofy combo packaged product the designers ought to have at least considered the desirable attributes for the precious few applications where the product actually makes some sense.

Bullwinkle: This is the amplifier, which amplifies the sound. This is the Preamplifier which, of course, amplifies the pree's.

If the gig calls for chocolate and peanut butter myself and other users of discrete systems can just leave the jelly at home and break out the Lindt bars, along with the same trusty Jif and party time. If your only option is some goober's abomination purchased because it was simpler to use then you are out of luck.

Does Nancy Pelosi (~5' 5") qualify as a Compact Powered Speaker?

(Not that she's on my wish list)
