Try testing it again.  Try it in stereo mode. One ch at a time.

Try testing it again.  Try it in stereo mode. One ch at a time.

Here's the diagnosis from the final test. All stereo mode.

Both channels are inputting sound correcty, when there's input on channel 1 and I turn up the channel 1 knob, the channel 1 lights light up. When there's input on channel 2 and I turn up the channel 2 knob, the channel 2 lights light up.

When there's a speaker plugged into output 1, turning up the channel 1 knob doesn't send anything through output 1. However, turning up channel 2 knob sends signal and power to speaker on output 1, and not to output 2. Output 2 does not out-put regardless of whether channel 1 or 2 are up.

I'm thinking it has to be something internal, somewhere between the gain knobs and the output jacks. There must be a thousand components between those too parts though. I'm pretty sure the actual problem is something very simple that was accidentally incorrectly assembled...

Check to make sure that the amp is not somehow in bridged mono mode as that is what the symptoms that you list all seem to imply. There might be asetting that you missed when you put it in stereo mode. Just my 2 cents...

It's definitely not, unless the switch on the back is messed up. The switch is set to stereo with the green stereo LED lit up..

WITH THE POWER OFF........try sliding the stereo mode switch back and forth a few times, then return it to the detented center "stereo" position.  Retest

No dice... Although, when it's in Bridged mode, the Channel 1 knob works for turning up output 1. In stereo mode, the channel 2 knob still turns up output 1.

Bad selector switch?  And are you absolutely sure your speaker cables are good?  Have you swapped them around?

If anyone is curious, I found out that the amp and the wiring are actually in perfect working order.

However, the Yorkville LS1208 subwoofers have a tiny little switch on the back panel that switch whether they use speakon pins +1/-1 and +2/-2. And of course, the manufacturer had them set default on +2/-2... So that explains all of the problems I was having. I've since switched them both to use +1/-1, and man, do they kick!
