Allen and Heath ICE-16
« on: January 11, 2013, 07:26:32 PM »

who has seen one of these...or better yet used one?
This looks much better than the laptop setup I was looking for, to do mobile recording, only to take tracks back to the studio.

That is a great looking setup. It would be a great addition to any live recording rig. I wounded if anyone knows what they are going to sell for. I want to get a 24 channel or at least a 16 channel recording interface to hookup to the direct outs on our Mackie Onyx mixer to record the worship team at church on Sundays and mix it down later so I can get a better recording of the service.  I don't have the time during the service to due two mixes.

RCA outputs? Really?  ???

-Dan.

Yup, 16 RCA outputs for analog.  BUT....

16 analogue Inputs, 16 analogue Outputs
Front USB socket for easy capture to USB storage devices
    Hybrid FireWire (IEE1394) / USB 2.0 16x16 audio interface
    Industry standard wav file format
Up to 6 hours of 16 channel audio on a 32GB USB stick
Signal Present and Peak LED metering on each channel
Mono headphone bus for Input or Output monitoring
Daisy chain multiple units over FireWire
Familiar transport buttons and intuitive controls

I think most folks would be using the 16x16 digital interface.  The analog outs have taken a back seat to the digital interface and might be intended for less critical monitoring.

Still looks kind of worth checking out.
