I have a Presonus 16.0.2 and a 16.4.2 before that.  They sound great.

But sometimes I want a compact, like 8 channel (real channels), board to run out and do quick, free, etc. gigs.

Sure would love a mixer that would do what the StudioLive does but in a box half the size with about 8 mic pres.

Other than the Mackie Ipad mixer, does anyone know of or heard rumors about such a beast ever happening?

I've heard lots of rumors.  Heck, I signed NDAs for products that were never released...

NAMM is in a couple of weeks.  Stay tuned.

I seriously doubt that anybody with real knowledge is going to reveal anything before NAMM. NDAs exist for a reason and competition is fierce.

The only thing we know for sure is that there will be behringers copy of the dl1608... Maybe copy was the wrong word to use 

No reason to loose your job over an NDA 2 weeks before namm.
