Using Vertec 4887A with 4887
« on: January 08, 2013, 10:02:34 am »

Hi guys

Have anyone used Vertec 4887A together with 4887, with seperate processing offcourse?

I have a hard time finding 4887A's for sub rent, all vertec users nearby only have the 4887. I only need 3 more boxes a side. Got 9 4887A for now.

Contact JBL to confirm this, but I think the primary difference between the 87 and 87a is the HF driver.  Not sure how much the transfer functions will overlay between the models, but I know the processing is different and that the models don't sound the same if one uses the other model's processing.

Since you can separately process & power them, I'd put the 4887's on the top of the hang and circuit them accordingly.

The 4887A's have ports in the handles that the 4887's do not have.  Not sure of your locations but we have 22 4887A's in our rental inventory.  We are in Merrillville IN 46410.
