I'm looking for a robust product that does the job. Any ideas?

I use the Audio Technica AT8471 on all of my AT, EV (ND408/468/168) and Audix (D series) mics. They are fantastic. They seriously grip the microphones and I have no fear of them breaking anytime. Ive done about 20 shows in a rock club since Ive switched over to them so time will tell. I have had 1 AT8471 for nearly 3 years that Ive swapped on and off of mics continuously and its still in excellent shape today. You pay the price though...

I Believe the more robust version is called the "D-Clip" and I can't imagine breaking one - I agree that their original clip was designed to last only a few minutes though...

The ones I own look similar to this:

 ... Accept mine have different grip on the knurled knob.  Are these the ones breaking on you?

I've been using Audix DCLIPs on Shure A56D mounts.  For me, this combination has proven itself reliable.  No broken DCLIPs or mounts in three years.

I've had many issues with the Audix drum mount clips breaking. Anymore suggestions on replacements for these?

I have both the old(er) smooth entry and the style referenced here. I leave clips on all my D* mics  since I use quick disconnects. Indeed they are so e-taped to the point that a dry hire would likely just leave it in than attempt to remove mic from clip. The heat/ cold seem to be the flaw; not the in and out usage in a controlled: read: indoors environment...

I haven't had any breakage with the newest incarnation of the clips. Has anyone? If not, I see no reason to not use the latest Audix clips. They seem bombproof to me and I don't go to any extra lengths to protect them. Very solid indeed. The old ones used to break all the time.

are you referring to the drum clamp, If so I have had them break a bunch on me, but never the actual mic clip.

+1 on the Shure a56d

I think they are about the best thing you can get to mount any mic to a drum.

Broke off in my hand. I don't believe I was using undue force to reposition at HH mic.

Wow, never seen that happen before. Has it been more than one? It seems like it might have been a bad fit between the insert and moulding.

3 broken ones... I'd be calling Audix about this.  Where all 3 clips purchased at the same time? Maybe a bad batch.

I have 2 old (almost full circle style) that have lasted, and 5 or so of the Open style /low profile screw with many shows.

Yep, that is their weak spot. A falling stand will take one out too.

I broke one in the same place but it was my fault, I dropped a cable bin on the kick mic stand in the van while unloading.      I haven't broken one on a d-clip yet.

Remedy 1: combine broken AT with broken Audix.
Remedy 2: ordered 4 new clips.
