Yamaha MY card DB25 wiring help needed, urgent
« on: January 03, 2013, 01:21:02 PM »

The customer ordered his own cable, incorrectly wired for Tascam. I need to modify it, today, to finish this upgrade. I found the pinout on Yamaha's site.  The card is in an M7, it is the AES 4 in 4 out card.

But:  There are only 7 pins for the 8 shields.
And: which of the 8 channels are in and which are out? 1-4 and 5-8 or the reverse, or in pairs 1/2, 3/4, etc?

Thanks!

Here is a screenshot showing the DB25 pinout. The channels are labeled as AES in and out, plus and minus. You can either double up one of the ground pins, or skip the shield on one of the cables, the shield will be grounded at the other end.

Thanks, Mac.

Assuming the connector on the left in your image is the Yamaha end...

Here's another way of drawing the same thing, on Whirlwind's site:

It might be a little easier to visualize.  The connectors are shown from the solder side of the pins.
