Any tricks to dismantling a 2452?
« on: December 25, 2012, 11:59:00 PM »

The highs in one of my SRX boxes sounded a bit "off" so would like to take a dekko at the diaphragm. After removing the 4 screws expected the backshell to just pop off (like a 2440/1/5, which I've done hundreds). It didn't!. Before I apply gorilla like forces, are there any tricks?.

There are no wires from the terminals to the diaphragm.

The terminals that protrude through the cap are connected directly to the diaphragm top ring and have an "O" ring, no, more like a grommet fit to the cap for sealing, so when you gently pry/wiggle the cap up while taking care to not lever the terminals, they will stay behind with the dia.
