Instant Replay take apart???
« on: February 04, 2013, 01:04:00 PM »

Our IR came back from a rental last week and the display won't light up.  Tugging on the display hood housing brings it back to life so it looks likely to be a loose connection and probably an easy fix if I can get it disassembled that is.  Anyone know how to take an Instant Replay apart?  The only exposed fasteners are on the bottom and they appear to hold an internal component in place, loosening them doesn't give any traction for opening the unit.   :-[

Ha, I looked under one foot and saw only PCB and gave up too soon.  Thanks for suggestion to press on.

You have to reach in there a bit to get to the screws.

Interesting little exercise in the appreciation of industrial design philosophy yesterday.  Had two units to fix, MacBook Pro and an Instant Replay.  One approach was apparently along the lines of " is all the stuff in the box yet?  OK, lets go to lunch".  The other approach was more along the lines of " is it art yet? Great lets have an expensive staff dinner"  One can argue about whether they are willing to pay for art in their industrial design but I sure know what I value in using it and repairing it.
