Powered coax wedges. RCF & ??? Anyone using the RCF NX12sma's?
« on: November 28, 2012, 06:43:57 PM »

Anyone else producing anything? Def going powered, and I like the generally smaller footprint and dispersion of a coax.

Live bands, usually too loud :(. Normally vox only but there are always exceptions, little key, gtr, etc.

I've sold a bunch of the NX12SMAs and a good number of the 10" version as well. They are working out very well for general stage monitors and the guitar modelers love them, too.

There's also DB Tech's FM8, F10 and FM12  http://www.dbtechnologies.com/index.php?id=22&no_cache=1&L=0&tx_amdbt_pi1%5Bcategory%5D=17&tx_amdbt_pi1%5Bproduct%5D=688&cHash=716cb885da4b54f269fdf38be7cca209

FBT's Verve 12 and 15MA are being cleared out right now at reduced prices.  http://www.fbt.it/ENG/PAE/PRODOTTI/SPEAKERS/VERVE/
They're being replaced with the 112MA and 115MA  http://www.fbt.it/ENG/PAE/PRODOTTI/SPEAKERS/Verve1/
There's also the Stage Max wedge  http://www.fbt.it/ENG/PAE/PRODOTTI/Stage-moni/StageMaxX/StageMaxX-/
And the Mitus 210A  http://www.fbt.it/ENG/PAE/PRODOTTI/SPEAKERS/Mitus/Mitus-210-/

Finally, there's the Fulcrum Acoustic FA12ac  http://www.fulcrum-acoustic.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/Prod-Spec-FA12ac-vP1.pdf

There may be others, but I can't think of them right now.

The RCF NX12SMA are great little boxes.  I demo'd these for a couple weeks and had great results.  I compared them against a MRX512m, the NX's are much better sounding and was slightly louder.

I would have bought these, but I ended up getting a killer deal on dB Tech DVX's.  The DVX's get a little louder than the NX's.

I own several RCF NX-10 SMA monitors purchased at very good prices from Mike Pyle. Used a few at a concert of two Western swing and honky tonk bands last Saturday. Same situation you describe: loud on stage so the monitors had vocals only. Worked wonderfully, the bands loved them, and I had plenty of volume in reserve.

I have 4 of the NX12SMAs I bought from Mike a year ago.  They are great, and I have had many compliments on them from the groups coming through.  Get covers for them from Mike or similar.  I have one of the RCF covers that is OK, but I like the other ones Mike sourced through Undercovers.
