X32 Question - USB Playback file types
« on: November 08, 2012, 02:36:54 PM »

Maybe I just haven't looked hard enough, but is there any way of playing back any sort of compressed file (mp3, flac etc) via the topside USB port on an X32, or is it strictly limited to 44.1k and 48k .wav?.

currently limited to 44.1 and 48 .wav files only.  and the file must match what the console is set for.

word has it that licensing costs have kept them from implementing an MP3 player directly.  however, i wouldn't be surprised to see it appear somewhere in a firmware update.  but for now it is what it is.

that being said, thumb drives are so cheap you can just use a decent sized [i use a 16G] drive and just go with the .wav files.  not a real big deal...
