Do you know anyone with a VariAC ??

or you could drop 5 volts with about 500 feet of  extension cord
I doubt you would have that kind of a drop with a guitar foot pedal-and if you need that kind of extension-there are probably other more important issues than the guitar tone.

Or you can use a 6.3V transformer and use it as a "bucking" device to raise the incoming voltage 6.3V.

Buck this I say!! There are about 1 million power supplies available for pedal boards. If the OP buys a regulated quality PS he's all set and this thread can come to an end.

+1 Bob. The Voodoo Lab Pedal Power 2 is what I use, and the noise floor is definitely lower than with those cheap daisy-chain One Spot things. Plus, it has 2 outputs with a "sag" control to simulate those dying carbon zinc batteries, which sometimes do interesting things to fuzz boxes and the like.

If it's good enough for Pete Cornish, it will probably work for the OP and all of us...

As I suspected: this is Guitar God's problem and solution, not the poor sound guy.

Is it possible that a guitar rig (pedal board) could have a change in tone or performance from a 5 - 6 volt drop (e.g, running at 114 - 116 volts) instead of a nominal 120 volts?
As far as pedals go I would say yes. I know an OD pedal will sound differant with a 9V power supply and a fresh 9V battery. And sound differant w/ old vs new batteries. So Yea IMO. Eric Johnson claims to hear a differance between battery brands. :o
AS far as amps go NO I think you'd need to drop a noticable bit to hear a differance. But then again maybe those rooms were my amp sounds odd is low voltage and not room acoustics?? ???
