Yamaha SP2060
« on: August 24, 2012, 10:52:31 PM »

Hi Folks- new to the forum.
Making major changes in our church audio. Just ordered an M7CL, and considering an SP2060. I am curious if one needs to hardwire the 2060 to the router or if it will connect wirelessly? I am hoping to mount and control it remotely. Seems one needs a laptop for this, not an Ipad?
Thanks

You wouldn't usually routinely adjust a speaker processor, however if you want to be able to configure and/or adjust the SP2060 from a wireless tablet or laptop then Yamaha says "The SP2060 is equipped with an Ethernet port for connection to a computer so that data can be transferred directly from the DME Designer. A wireless LAN can be used so that parameters can be adjusted from a tablet computer or similar portable device while listening to the sound at critical points on stage or in the audience area."  So the procesor itself is not wireless but it could be on a network that has a wireless access point and then communicate with a wireless tablet or laptop running the DME Designer software.
