Symultaneous use of Tempest and DX200 in WiFi Band?

can tempest 2400 and dx200 coexist in the spectrum at the same time even though they have no way of syncing?

is it simply a matter of spreading out antennas so they don't over power each other, or was clearcom/HME smart enough to give them different hopping patterns all together?

If the systems run in the same band either or both will have loud clicks.

I think, the safest way would be to setup the DX200 to work on the lower end of the band (Hopefully you have a spectrum friendly version of the DX200 - Wifi channels 1-6) and the Tempest to use the channels on the upper end which would be Tempest Band 7 which avoids Wifi channels 1-7.

Tom Turkington from Tempest responded:

Pete,

We have seen this work well from a Tempest perspective by simply operating both systems in the full band mode and getting good physical separation on base antennas. There have been some reports, though, of the DX users experiencing clicks. The Tempest users seem to be fine.

You could do what you said about splitting the band, but you limit the number of Tempest bases you can use in that area and you reduce the amount of interference rejection that would normally come via hopping over the entire band.

Let me know if you want to talk about it further.

Thanks,
