That is a little like saying I have to drive 20 miles a day to work at 60 mph. What type of car should I buy?

Pick a brand, pick a model line, and then find an appropriate size. Hopefully that model matches your budget.

I'm going to suggest a QSC PLX 3402 strapped into mono.  That gives you 3400watts into 8 ohms.  That is well over 2000 rms so it will drive the spkr. nicely yet slightly below the max 4000 rating beyond which damage could occur.  Their are others that fit this requirement I'm sure. Best of luck!

Not so - that'd only give 3400W bridged into 4 Ohms, not 8.

Brad,
According to CV that speaker is capable of handling 1000 watts RMS, not 2000. Size the amp at 2x long term power handling which equals 1000 x 2 = 2000 watts output. That will give you the proper power for the cabinet plus headroom for those 2000 watt peaks. Any QSC or Crown amp will do just fine.

How much are you looking to spend?

Does size or weight matter?

Do you want internal processing in the amp?

There are all kinds of amps out there-you HAVE to narrow it down a bit to get one that is right for you and your speaker.

Size and weight doesn't really matter and internal processing isn't needed. Just looking for a decent amp to power it!

That is true, for the 2010-up ts-42 model. I apologize for not being more specific about that. Back in 07-08 when the TS-42 came out, they were rated for 2k watts rms and 4k peak. (Ill post a picture of the rating sheet later). I have the 08 model.

Hi,
If you need 2000 watts into 8r, you need to look into some really big amps, like the powersoft and lab gruppen.
This 2x rms ratting though is only safe for live sound and un-compressed music. If you are a DJ, you will easilly smoke your speakers with less power than that.
