I thought this would work intuitively, but I just tested it:

You don't need a wifi access point to make this work.  Just set a static IP on the ST computer, then set a static IP on the same subnet, on the mobile device.   Then enter the ST computer IP into the mobile device browser and there it is.  Works perfectly.

Great.  One less piece of gear to lug around :-)

The only drawback I can see is lack of range.   But for smaller situations, it should work just fine.

And of course since it is browser-based, it's not an app to either buy or install.
