I'm late to the game with this but here's an option:

1.have a truss company make you a piece of truss that is 38" high or so.. this can be done for under $1k.. you can mount all sorts of crap on it.. put wheels on it.. highly customizable.

2. make something like this.. rusko was traveling with something similar last year.. it was a pain to build but it was cool looking. (http://www.eventuryproductions.com/producten/dj_meubel_truss.htm)

3. Get two pieces of 18"x18"x8, or 20"x20"x8 truss and burger them together to make something 36-40" high (may need a small riser then)
