Soundvision 1.9
« on: April 22, 2012, 02:02:08 PM »

I'm experiencing heavy crash issues with soundvision 1.9 and looking for ideas. I have an Alienware MX15 with an i7 Q740 processor and an ATI mobility radeon HD 5730 graphics card. I'm running Windows 7 64bit home edition. I have downloaded the L-acoustics trouble shooting guide and updated the graphics driver accordingly. I have tried all 24 settings with their 3d display tool and the best I can do is get a floor & 3 walls built before it crashes. Anyone else experienced this/ found a work around?
Also If this is in the wrong forum area please forgive me and feel free to move it to the appropriate spot. Thanks

Is there some reason to hide the tip from the rest of the members? The point of these forums is to share information.

Thank you, Mac.

Is there a secret handshake that comes with an l'Acoustics purchase?

Yes, it's the handshake that makes owners break the laws of physics. Take cylindrical wavefronts for example - no other manufacturer can make those.

(disclaimer!)
Hey Mac,
I don't work for L-Acoustics!
I live in France and my sound company is part of the L-acoustics network.
I have been plagued by numerous Soundvision crashes.
The software had become so unstable since the latest (V 1.9) upgrades that some times I couldn't even re-open a file I just closed!
(corrupted file error)
Anyway, after several chats with L-acoustics software dpt. I learned that the major issue with Soundvision is the fact that it runs the graphics card in open GL (works fine on some computers, not on others..... sorry  :()
Supposedly,  V2 will run direct X at last!
I was told also that there is an issue upgrading to V 1.9 or V 1.9.1 from previous versions. In other words, one should uninstall Soundvision and run a full install of V 1.9.1 ( not available on there download page!!!!)and restart your computer after installation.
Since re-installation SV has been much more stable and usable again!
Here is the link to V 1.9.1 full install:

I had second thoughts about sharing a link that was given to me but WTF........
You are right Mac, I should share!  ;D
