When down looks like up to you.....

Ahh. Piedmont blues...

More of that in bluegrass than most people realize.

How about a little delta blues, one being played live for the first time and the other a Booker White standard.

Katie Thompson (not the one you are probably thinking of) is a local artist who has done really well over the last 12-18 months.  She won the sellaband comp to get an album funded, got to open for Sir Elton John in Dunedin NZ and received funding for making a music vid http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=trKT5iTo8bM

I've been mostly listening to my recordings of Seattle's vibrant jazz scene.

So glad to live in this city. So much quality live music.

And anything by Barbara Dennerlein......

Ask The Ages just had one of my recordings mastered for commercial release. This'll be my first.

Can't go wrong with Bill Evans, will check out Dennerlein, any recommendations on where to start?
