Martin Magnum 2000 Issues
« on: December 18, 2011, 04:12:00 AM »

Hi Guys,

I'm new to the boards and was looking for some help with a Martin Magnum 2000 fogger.  I did a search and couldn't really find any answers.

Anyway, the machine heats up fine and when ready, I press the fog button and the unit makes a loud noise with no output.  I pulled the top off and noticed the pump is functioning but it won't take in any fluid (I tried vinegar to clean it out).

I pulled the pump out of the unit and injected some vinegar into it and then manually moved the pump and it shot out the other side.  I'm wondering if I should try and put a hose into one end of the pump and then disconnect the copper hose at the other end and see if the pump sucks it out?

If that does work then is it fair to say the issue is with a clogged heater?

Any help would be great and maybe a suggestion as to where to get parts too!  Thanks in advance.

Rarely had success myself. Contact Martin directly. If they won't sell you the heater block directly they should be able to provide you with the part number and contact info for dealers.

definitely sounds like a clogged heater, or a disconnected line somewhere

make sure everything inside is connected the way it should be first. If that doesn't work, I'd take a look at the in/out of the heating element and see if you can notice a blockage at all. It may be something simple to fix.

may be able to help you, in particular post #2

unfortunately martin doesn't have much information regarding cleaning/maintenance in their manual for the magnum 2000

Hey Guys,

I'm going to try the pump trick and hopefully try to eliminate the issue of it maybe being the pump.  Although if nothing comes out and I know its the pump, thats an easy fix if I can find parts.

If it's not the pump, is there any way to clean out the heater?

Thanks in advance!  Anyone know where to get parts?

Just seeing if you had resolved this issue. I seem to have a heater core that is clogged as well. All of my attempts to unclog it so far have failed. I have read where someone tried boiling one in hot water(presumably) but have not gotten any replies in my post to indicate whether this was successfull or not.
