Chauvet MVP video panels? Any users out there?
« on: November 03, 2011, 10:33:04 AM »

http://www.chauvetlighting.com/chauvet-pro_led-display-systems.html

We have been needing to get into video panels for the more modern productions and the rental fee's are pretty steep for the higher end brands.

These look pretty impressive and fairly affordable.

Anyone out there tried them? I have not found any reviews out there to speak of.

at 12.5mm (the absolute best they make) you're not going to get a very high resolution out of them

would be decent at long distances, but I wouldn't expect anything high quality

it also has a fairly large transparency, although that's easily solved with hanging a black drape behind it.

in comparison, Ignition makes a 5mm pixel pitch video wall which performs quite well outputting 1080p HD video at pretty much any distance. Have no idea what price comparison is like however.

As I've never used the Chauvet product, I can only go off the specs listed based on how it compares to other products I have used

Anyone out there tried them? I have not found any reviews out there to speak of.

My paperwork doesn't show them as being available and in stock/ready for shipment until mid December.

However, I did see them at LDI this year and they are pretty awesome, for a trio of comparatively low-res panels.

My rep says the first shipment in in. If they are available...:)

They did look good at the show.

The MVP12 six pack (6 2x2 panels case & cables) has a MSRP of $28,699.99. MVP18 - $21,279.99. MVP37.5 - $9,799.99

You also need the computer interface for 7,279.99.

They also have another controller for live camera inputs etc for 8,399.99.

Not cheep....but some of the other systems are quite a bit more expensive.

This gives you a screen size of 4' x 6'. Not a full background for a concert stage...but big enough for clubs?

You can also get then in two packs for considerably less cash. You save a few hundred bucks by buying them in 6 packs.

Let's see what happens.

You can also mix these with the other panels. EFX lighting backdrop?
