« on: June 17, 2010, 06:34:44 PM »

have been told they have a backline tech but that my staff will mix FOH and monitors

they are bringing 8 set s of in ears

nothing further forthcoming from the event planner as of yesterday's meeting and walk through

contact information for their tech?

Yeah I saw that but that's not why I want to know more  I think the riot potential is small in the situation I'm looking at

With a load in scheduled for 10 AM this Saturday my guys would like a little more information.

So far the event planner has been much more concerned with the availability of a grand piano for Hanson and the two other acts and whether or not there's a tie in for power for the moving lights.

My guys can handle anything that's thrown at them but the more they know in advance the smoother and faster things will go

Just did a 2 week run with them... I'm surprised they won't have a FOH guy for the one off.

I've got their d-show file on my usb stick, but I can't open it on my mac... From what I remember they have the 3 brothers and 2 "brothers" playing backing instruments. My guess would be 4 piece lefty drum kit, bass guitar, 2 electric guitars, 1 acoustic guitar, grand piano, 3 keyboards, a few tracks, and 3 vocals.

Here's a "stage plot" that I made off memory. It could be totally different for your gig, but it's what they did on our tour:

index.php/fa/30856/0/

I will open their file tomorrow and see what it looks like.

PS- The band is still really good and the new music is really good. They're still a talented bunch.

Lee-
Drop me your email address and I will send off what I have from their fall tour to you. Evan's plot is pretty close.

that plot's exactly right, from an attendee's perspective... seen a bunch of there shows and they've never wavered from that plot. the drum riser will need lots of space, the drummer has a huge road case that the click comes from somehow.

Which is why we wanted some advance "warning". They, and a trio of performers from "Rent" are supposed to fit on this stage:

The stage front is at the top of the picture.

As a fly in date the huge road case may not be present.  The backline is all rented.

Like I said, this particular event planner is, how you say, new to this  Sad

Many thanks to all LABsters who helped out.

Here's the cell phone picture from last night's event.

They decided against the drum riser on the small stage.  Piano was shared with the
"Rent" guy.

My crew reports "no riots"
