Converting Power pooint to DVD files
« on: November 03, 2009, 08:28:18 pm »

I have a client who wants to convert her powerpoint slide show to use on a DVD player. Its just for a "rolling" Picture show. She doesnt want to learn a new soft ware particulary but isnt against it either as long as setting up slides, timing etc isnt any more complicated.

I'm not positive about the PC version, but in the Mac version of PowerPoint, there's an "Save as Movie" in the File menu.  Save it in a nice high-quality format.  Then take it to any DVD writing program (Toast for Macs, Easy DVD Creator for Windows, or anything equivalent) and it should do the trick no problem.

Most current Windows machines have Windows DVD Maker already installed.

You would just need to export the PowerPoint show to a set of images, and then drop them into DVD maker and set the duration between images, and set the DVD to play in a continuous loop under options.  Then burn the DVD.
