Anyone in NorCal using the LAB subs?
« on: October 16, 2009, 10:22:37 PM »

I've heard the rant and rave about them and would like to hear a set of them if anyone in the north CA bay area has a set they wouldn't mind giving a demo of.

I am from Sacramento and I wouldn't mind hearing them also. Always wondering if it could live up to the hype, and if a cluster of 4 can really blow my socks off.

Hi Tony,
I live in Sacramento, and have 4 of them in mothballs at my brother's house. They'd need a bit of work and a couple of recones.

Rest assured they live up to the hype. Standing within 25 feet of them will send you off staggering. Very Happy

As for using them all the time...Oh YA! I have OAP double front loaded 18's, EV S181's, Peavey SP218's, Fane single 15, and 18" subs...I will take the LABS EVERY time! 2 LABS will wipe the floor with 8 Ev S181's or 4 OAP double 18"s...and the distortion and lack of sub 40hz output...make it HARD for me to listen to the front loads...
Gary

Hey Chris... you interested in selling those LABS? Maybe JW would buy them?

I wouldn't say they are STAGGERING...but they are very nice sounding fairly high output and very high sensitivity boxes (you dont need a lot of power to get these things singing).
