And I want a Ferrari for 250 dollars, and oh yeah it needs to run on regular, because I'm not going to pay for the premium.....

I accept Paypal! I run just fine on Rolling Rock, no need to spring for Heineken. Laughing

In all seriosness

FACE Audio has some amps that fit the size and output specs, I have heard some guys say they were decent. But I am unsure of price but heard they were competitive.

I know it's not Crown, or LAB, or any other brand so it is automatically dismissed by most, but I have considered looking at a couple for my hit and run shows.

The Peavey DPC1000 was 500w/ch and 1U. I've still got one - it's out on a hire just now actually. Not particularly rider friendly, and I'm sure many people could pick holes in the sound quality, but as a small, cheap, reliable amp for basic dry hires it hits the spot.

I'm in need of a single rack space power amplifier with a minimum of 500 watt/channel, and under $1000.00.  Any suggsetions would be greatly appreciated.

Or for even less money:

That should leave some budget for importing.
No idea how they sound and how much power they will put out in real world situations depending on crest, climate etc.

Powersofts Digam LD 1404 and 2004 were quite okay on some gigs I did but may be slightly out of budget (+35%?).

I have six D1600 in a flight case with two DDX3216. Six biamp wedges from a <80 Kg case. Absolutely not rider friendly, but they sound OK and barely warm at full power. I don't have any D3400, but they are more than twice the power for 1.5x the price... Smile

Face Audio -

I run the F1800D amp on a pair of Community RS220 tops and have no issue with the quality of the amp at all.
MAP price is $1,815.57

http://www.faceaudio.com/product4,4.html

Keep in mind that it does not bridge mono.

You're lucky!  Even crappy beer here is $1.10 for 500mL, and anything worth drinking is more like $2 for the same amount.
