Disable Mac Color Profiling
« on: January 12, 2009, 09:39:13 AM »

Although I'm pretty well-versed in getting Macs to look good on different devices via the Color settings in the Display Preferences pane, there are a lot of guys in our office who can count the number of times they've been on a Mac on one hand.

The big issue that seems to be coming up is the color profiles.  When you hook up a Mac to a monitor or projector, it automatically loads a color profile it thinks is correct.  Sometimes, though, the profile it loads looks like garbage and some of our guys don't either have the time to tweak or have the ability to do so.

Does anyone know if there's a way to disable this and just have the display output put out unadjusted colors?  For example, when I hook it up to one device and then hook it up to another, is there a way to have it always put out the same signal?

I know you can check the box to show all color profiles and have them choose the best looking one, but I'm looking for the fool-proof solution (as if there ever was one for anything!)
